Accessories and Upgrades

Lights

All trailers come equipped with reflectors. To upgrade to a battery-powered blinky light, the Planet Bike Blinky-5 taillight can be mounted in place of the reflectors. They are $15 each.

Generator lights are also possible, although they necessitate custom-built wheels with generator hubs, and you'll likely want some kind of metal housing around the lights themselves since they're quite a bit more expensive than the battery-powered lights. Contact me for details.

Wheels

The standard trailer wheels are machine-built 36 or 48 spoke wheels with single wall aluminum rims. They are quite strong. However, if you want stronger wheels or some other custom feature such as drum brakes or generator hubs, I'm happy to hand-build wheels. Labor is $50 each. Cost of the hubs, spokes, and rims depends on what you get.

Tires

The standard trailer tires are large slick BMX tires. Common upgrades include the Schwalbe Big Apple, a very large, high quality tire which can be run at low pressure to give the trailer more shock absorption for an extra $30, and the Schwalbe Marathon Plus, a very thick, high quality tire excellent for pucture protection for an extra $40.

Paint Job

The standard paint job is a professional powder coat in a primary color of your choice (if you don't choose, it's going to be red). If you want something other than a primary color, and there are many to choose from, there is an extra $50 charge.
